BOOKING & CANCELLATION
How to make a reservation? Let’s Talk About Your Travel Plan - package, date and pricing. 1. Review Contract - We'll send you a contract for review, which you’ll have 7 days to sign. Please take your time to read through it carefully! If the contract isn’t signed within those 7 days, it will expire. Don’t worry though—if you still want to reserve the date, just reach out to us. If the date is available, we’ll issue a new contract. 2. Confirm Your Booking - Once you're ready, send back the signed contract along with the administration fee* to lock in your date and time. Please note: we can’t confirm your reservation without both the signed contract and the fee. Any payments made before receiving the contract or after it’s voided won’t secure your date. 3. Final Payment – A 30% of the total price is due one week before the photoshoot day; the remaining balance is due within 3 days after the photoshoot day. 4. Photoshoot day! 5. Delivery - All edited photos will be sent via cloud storage about 1.5 months after the shoot. The album and canvas print will be sent to you within 2-3 months after the photoshoot. * The administration fee is 30% of the total price, which includes a 20% deposit and 10% to cover Chateau Weddings' services such as selecting the shoot date, contacting local vendors, and booking services for your big day.
How can I make the payments? Wire transfer
How far in advance should I book my pre-wedding photoshoot? There are two ways to look at this: 1. Based on your wedding date: Ideally, your photoshoot should take place at least 4 months before your wedding. This is because it typically takes 2 to 3 months to receive the final products (photos, canvas prints, and albums). If you plan to print invitations or other items, giving yourself a 4-month buffer ensures everything is ready in time. For example, if your wedding is in mid-September, we recommend scheduling your shoot no later than mid-May. 2. Based on the photoshoot date: It’s best to allow 3 to 4 months of preparation time between booking your shoot and the actual day (for dress/suit rentals, travel arrangements, and time off work). For example, if you want to capture Prague’s beautiful spring in mid-April, we suggest booking your photoshoot no later than mid-January.
I want to do the pre-wedding photoshoot next month. Is it possible? Absolutely! The most important thing for us is checking if your preferred date is available. As long as our team is free, we can make it happen!
Can the items in the package be adjusted? Of course! Just let us know what you need and what you don't, and we'll do our best to accommodate your requests.
Why are Chateau Weddings’ prices lower than other companies? Prague is one of the most affordable cities in Europe. Additionally, our team members are locals or long-term residents of Prague, which means we don’t incur costs for staff transportation or accommodation. We can assist you with all the details before your departure from Taipei while also managing transportation in the Czech Republic. Even if other companies offer similar prices, we can confidently say that the "value" we provide is truly exceptional.
What if I need to cancel my photoshoot? We understand that life can be unpredictable, and our cancellation and rescheduling policy is designed to be fair and transparent. However, we kindly ask that you carefully consider your decision during the 7-day contract review period. We want your photoshoot booking to be a chance to create beautiful & lifelong memories for you. Once the payment and contract are confirmed, we reserve your selected date and turn down any other inquiries for that time. Because of this, the administration fee is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule or transfer your booking to someone else, we're happy to help! Please note that there may be an additional fee if the new date has different pricing. If your photoshoot needs to be canceled due to natural disasters or unexpected COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the government, we will refund the 20% deposit. Alternatively, you can choose to reschedule to a new date within 1 year at no extra cost. Please be aware that rain or concerns about the pandemic are not considered natural disasters. Cancellations due to weather worries or general pandemic concerns are non-refundable.
What if it rains? If heavy rain is forecasted, we can reschedule your photoshoot to a new date within the same year, depending on both your availability and ours. Just keep in mind that prices increase by 5% each year due to inflation. If it's just light rain or drizzles that won’t significantly impact the shoot, we’ll go ahead as planned. Rest assured, weather rarely causes us to cancel or reschedule, and we’ll always do our best to make sure your day goes smoothly!
SERVICES & PHOTOGRAPHY
How many photos do you edit? All photos will go through color correction and retouching. We guarantee at least 50 photos per hour of shooting. However, if you need to return to the hotel for outfit changes during the session, this time is included in the total shoot time, which might result in fewer photos for that period.
Will all the photos from the shoot be made public? The Chateau Weddings team is honored to be your photographers, and we cherish every couple we work with. We will select some photos to share on our website and Instagram. The prices listed on our website are promotional rates, and by signing the contract, couples agree to have some photos made public. If you prefer not to have any photos shared, you can purchase a buyout for €600.
How many photographers can I choose from? Chateau Weddings offers 6 photographers based in Prague: • A – Photography Director (specializes in pre-wedding and couple shoots) • B – Photography Director (specializes in luxury weddings and pre-wedding shoots) • C – Photographer (weddings, pre-wedding, and family portraits) • D – Photographer (weddings, pre-wedding, and family portraits) • E – Photographer (weddings, couples, and family portraits) • F – Photographer (weddings, couples, and family portraits)
Can you also help us record a video? Or do you only provide photography services? Our photographers focus solely on capturing photos. However, if you would like to have a video recorded, we can arrange for a videographer for an additional fee.
Does it make a difference which day of the week I choose for the photoshoot? We recommend avoiding weekends and public holidays for your photoshoot, so you’ll have a better chance of capturing beautiful, intimate moments with fewer people around.
What time of day is best for a photoshoot? Early morning at dawn and just before sunset. These times provide beautiful and soft lighting that can enhance the overall mood of your photos. If requested, it is also possible to do the night photoshoot (like 2 A.M. at Charles Bridge and other locations).
How many locations will we have time to visit during our Prague pre-wedding shoot? A lot of! While we recommend choosing one location for every 1.5 hours, we’ll be moving around and taking photos almost continuously, so you can capture beautiful moments at various spots.
What will our route be? You are in the center of decision-making. You can choose to take photos at the locations you love. We’ll discuss and finalize the route before your departure.
Can we take photos in the church? For religious reasons, photography is not permitted in any church.
Can I bring my bag? Absolutely! You’re welcome to bring a bag, and our coordinator will be happy to assist you with it while we’re shooting.
Do we need to arrange transport? Not at all! This is one of the unique aspects of our service. Depending on the chosen package, your coordinator will arrange for a taxi or drive you to the shooting locations and safely return you to your hotel at the end of the shoot.
What is the schedule for the day? How does everything work? Do you come to our hotel? Early in the morning, our coordinator and stylist will come to your room to get things started. The bride's makeup and hairstyle usually take about 2 hours to complete. If your hotel isn't within walking distance of the first shooting location, our coordinator will arrange a taxi for you the day before. The photographer will meet us at the first location and kick off the photoshoot! Depending on the package you choose, we’ll either shoot for several hours continuously or take a break for lunch and some rest after about 3 hours. During this break, either the stylist will come to your hotel to continue her work, or you can enjoy some free time to relax. As we get closer to sunset, we’ll meet the photographer again at the next shooting location to continue capturing those beautiful moments.
Where should we stay for our Prague pre-wedding photoshoot? I recommend choosing a hotel or apartment near Charles Bridge, particularly on Karlova or Mostecka streets. If that’s not possible for any reason, try to find accommodation within walking distance of Old Town Square.
How long should I stay in Prague? We recommend planning for a stay of 3 to 5 days in Prague.
What currency is used locally? How can I exchange it? How much should I bring? The currency used in the Czech Republic is the Czech koruna. You cannot exchange it in Taiwan, so you’ll need to exchange for euros in Taiwan and then convert euros to korunas locally. However, electronic payments are quite common in the Czech Republic; even small vendors accept card payments. If a vendor doesn’t accept cards, most of them will also accept euros.
CONSULTATION & COMMUNICAITON
Do you offer in-person consultations & LINE consultations? Chateau Weddings is located in Taipei, with our consultation office near the MRT NTU Hospital station. Feel free to add us on LINE (@870rkfyi) to schedule an in-person consultation!
How will we discuss the details? Once the contract is signed, we will create a LINE group. You can share any questions or styles you like in the group at any time. We’ll also handle any proofreading and details for printed materials through LINE.
Will there be any language barrier since your team members are locals? Don’t worry! Our team members are fluent in English. Additionally, the preparation process will be assisted by our team in Taipei, who can communicate in both Chinese and English. You can feel confident that everything will be taken care of.
ATTIRE RECOMMENDATION
What dresses do you recommend for a pre-wedding photoshoot in Prague? • Choose dresses that are elegant, timeless, and comfortable. • Make sure the dress allows for movement without needing constant adjustments. You'll be walking, running, and spinning, so a longer, heavier dress may result in less dynamic photos. • We recommend avoiding dresses with long trains, as they can quickly become disheveled or dirty within just a few minutes of stepping outside. Most importantly, since you’re making a significant investment in this photoshoot, don’t compromise on your look! Your appearance is unchangeable, so instead of bringing 2-3 cheaper rented dresses that might look 'secondhand,' opt for 1 stunning dress that truly enhances your beauty!
What color dresses do you recommend? Choose any color that suits you best! However, we suggest avoiding red and black. Red can be too attention-grabbing, making the dress the brightest object in the photo and distracting from the two of you. A black dress can create a dark, featureless image without any details. That said, simple, form-fitting black dresses can be an exception, as they can beautifully accentuate the lovely curves of the female body.
How many wedding dresses can I wear on the photoshoot day? As mentioned earlier, instead of bringing 2-3 cheaper wedding dresses, it’s better to allocate your budget for one stunning dress that truly highlights your beauty. However, if needed, we can shoot a maximum of 2 dresses per day. On the second day of Option 3, we limit the shoot to 1 dress. Each day includes 1 hair and makeup look, but if you’d like to have 2 looks, you can add on for €100.
What kind of shoes should a bride wear? Sneakers or shoes with a sturdy, thick heel are great options! Since the photoshoot will involve a lot of movement, it might not always be possible to hide shoes that don’t quite match the vibe. For that reason, it’s best to choose shoes in a suitable color. If you really want to wear high heels, feel free to bring them along; just keep in mind that they’ll only be needed for a few shots.
What kind of suit do you recommend for the groom? Beige, blue, gray, and classic black are all excellent choices! We recommend opting for a matte fabric for the suit, as shiny materials can give off a cheap appearance.
Should the groom bring an extra shirt and socks? We recommend the groom bring an extra shirt and pair of socks. If you sweat during the shoot, having a fresh change will help you stay comfortable.
MAKEUP & HAIRSTYLE
Can I bring my own makeup artist to Prague? We recommend against it. The stylists we work with at Chateau Weddings are trusted by our photographers and have extensive experience working with Asian couples.
Do your stylists have experience with Asian brides? Absolutely! The makeup for Asian brides is different from that for Europeans. Our makeup and hairstyling artists specialize in working with Asian clients and have plenty of experience catering to the unique beauty needs of Asian brides.
Do your stylists provide false eyelashes and eyelid sticker tapes? Yes, we do have false eyelashes available! However, we recommend bringing your own eyelid sticker tapes, as they can be hard to find in Europe.
Will your stylists help with the groom’s makeup and hair? Of course! Our stylists will apply a bit of concealer under the eyes and on any visible spots, plus provide simple hair styling to make sure the groom looks his best.
How should I prepare for my makeup and hairstyle? First, tidy up your eyebrows by plucking any extra hairs and shaping them. Make sure to remove any unwanted facial hair, like mustaches or small hairs on your temples. In the days leading up to your shoot, be sure to moisturize your skin thoroughly. Applying a moisturizing mask the night before can work wonders! And don’t forget about the groom! He should also take care of his skin and lips; even the slightest dryness can show up in photos.
Can I schedule a trial for makeup and hairstyle? Of course! You can book a trial for an additional fee.
